Stick to Your Health Goals This Year With These Helpful Tools
Setting the goal is the easy part though — actually staying committed once the novelty has worn off is where it can get tough.
We think that any goal that involves improving your health is a worthy one worth sticking to. While much of achieving a goal has to do with determination, having the right tools to support your journey can help. That’s where we come in.
We’ve tested, evaluated, and reviewed hundreds of products aimed at improving health — from mattress pads to online therapy to meal delivery and more — and we’ve chosen our favorites to include in this 2025 Get Healthy Guide. We also spoke to subject matter experts: Tamar Z. Kahane, PsyD, a licensed clinical psychologist, founder and director of The Kahane Center, and founder of The Powers Program; Sarah Pelc Graca, a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)–certified personal trainer, women’s fitness specialist, certified level 1 precision nutrition coach, and the owner and head coach at Strong With Sarah Weight Loss Coaching; and Morgan Walker, RD, LDN, a registered dietitian and sports nutritionist at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, to provide us with expert insight on how to set yourself up for New Year’s resolution success.
Here’s what we recommend.

Apothékary Wine Down
People who participate in Dry January are onto something because cutting back or eliminating alcohol from your diet comes with some big health benefits. If your resolution this year is to drink less alcohol, try this Wine Down tincture as an alcohol alternative. You can mix it into a spritzer or drop it directly into your mouth and the mixture of ingredients will help you feel calmer, less stressed, and even lull you to sleep (basically offering similar effects as a glass of wine, just without the alcohol).

If Your Resolution Is: To Start Moving
In case you procrastinated a bit on this resolution but want to recommit to it, it’s never too late to start moving more. Pelc Graca suggests starting small to ensure you’re not doing too much too fast, and so you can feel confident about committing to this change for the long haul. “Even 10 to 15 minutes of movement a day is a great way to begin without feeling overwhelmed,” she says, adding, “By cultivating patience and consistency, you’re setting the foundation for long-term, lasting success.”

Sperax Walking Pad

Gaiam Dry Grip Yoga Mat
For those with a resolution to move more, to stay on track Pelc Graca suggests, “Instead of focusing solely on aesthetic goals, like weight loss, start to notice how exercise can improve your energy, mood, strength, and overall health.” Practicing yoga is an excellent way to do this because it’s low-impact, good for your health, and can improve your mental well-being. If you’re in need of a yoga mat to start practicing, this is a good option because it’s thick (so more cushion), offers ample space at 68 inches long by 24 inches wide, and has a nonslip coating that will help you hold your poses.

These multivitamins are formulated with nutrients, including vitamin D3, omega-3, DHA, magnesium, and zinc. They’re also formulated without calcium, because research has found that most men meet the recommended dietary allowance of 1,000 mg of calcium per day through their normal diet; or iron, which men need much less of than women.
The brand is transparent about its ingredients and sourcing, and it’s Clean Label Certified, meaning it has been thoroughly third-party tested to ensure there aren’t any potentially concerning heavy metals, plastics, or pesticides mixed into the ingredients.

If your goal in 2025 is to get more nutrients into your diet, this is a supplement worth considering. Check out our full review of Live It Up Super Greens.

If Your Resolution Is: To Moisturize More
Ensuring your skin is properly hydrated is not only realistically attainable, but it will also help you look and feel so much better once you commit to the practice. Keeping your skin moisturized can help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, help prevent the itchy and burning feelings often associated with dry skin, and improve your skin barrier, which can minimize irritation. Every body is different, though, so if you’re ready to start moisturizing but aren’t sure where to start, check in with your dermatologist or another trusted healthcare provider to find out what your skin needs to look and feel its best.

La Roche-Posay Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Body and Face Wash

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion With SPF 50
If your goal is to commit to a good skincare routine in 2025, don’t sleep on CeraVe’s AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. It’s made with broad spectrum SPF 50 to protect you from the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays, ceramides to restore your skin’s natural barrier, niacinamide to help calm the skin, and hyaluronic acid to deliver serious moisture. It’s also free of parabens and fragrance and safe for sensitive skin.

Glo Skin Beauty Hydra Bright Eye Cream
Included on our list of the best eye creams for wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness is Glo Skin Beauty’s Hydra Bright Eye Cream. It’s slightly tinted and illuminates the under-eye to make the skin look brighter and revitalized. It’s not just a beauty product; it also contains glycerin, cucumber extract, and lactic acid to hydrate the skin. Our testers said it felt light on their skin and left it feeling hydrated throughout the day.

If Your Resolution Is: To Improve Your Mental Health

Trio Nutrition Mood Joy Supplement

Headspace Mental Health Coaching
$99.99 per month
With a subscription to the Headspace Mental Health Coaching + Mindfulness app, you’ll have access to all the mindfulness activities and content that come with a standard Headspace subscription, as well as three monthly visits with a mental health coach. These visits happen over the app’s messaging system and, based on our tester’s experience, are focused more on the present and future. This differs from therapy, which often also dives into a patient’s past. These 50-minute sessions are ideal if you just want someone to check in with, rather than really digging deep into larger issues. Check out our full review of Headspace’s Mental Health Coaching.

Brightside Therapy
From $299 per month
If your resolution involves doing some serious emotional work, then online therapy through Brightside may be a good option. It offers cognitive behavioral therapy via video sessions, messaging with your therapist outside of sessions, and lessons. If you think you might benefit from medication as well, Brightside also offers psychiatry services that can help with this. Our tester, a psychologist herself, was impressed with her overall experience with Brightside’s therapy and would recommend the service to others. Check out our full review of Brightside Therapy.

Innerwell
From $83 per treatment
In addition to traditional online talk therapy, Innerwell also offers eye-movement desensitization (EMDR) therapy, psychiatry services, ketamine treatment, and psychedelic preparation and integration sessions, so if you’re interested in different therapy approaches, this may be the platform for you. Our tester, a therapist herself, was really impressed with Innerwell’s holistic approach to mental health and was very happy with her overall experience. Check out our full review of Innerwell.

Our tester tried out the platform with her partner and found the experience to be comfortable and beneficial. Check out our full review of Ours.

Regain Online Therapy
From $65 per week
Regain, which is an offshoot of BetterHelp, is a couple’s therapy platform that offers partners weekly therapy sessions via video, audio, or chat, as well as access to therapist messaging between sessions, and occasionally weekly homework. How We Tested the New Year’s Resolutions Get Healthy Guide
All the products on this list have been tested, evaluated, or reviewed by Everyday Health. We take pride in only suggesting products we trust and would use ourselves. We also interviewed three experts for this article:
- Tamar Z. Kahane, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist, the founder and director of the Kahane Center, and the founder of the Powers Program.
- Sarah Pelc Graca is a NASM-certified personal trainer, women’s fitness specialist, certified level 1 precision nutrition coach, and the owner and head coach at Strong with Sarah Weight Loss Coaching.
- Morgan Walker, RD, is a registered dietitian and sports nutritionist at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania.
I am a full-time writer and editor who has spent nearly a decade testing and reviewing products across several categories including health, wellness, beauty, diet and fitness, sleep, and more. Many recommendations on this list are products I personally love and use at home.
Why Are New Year’s Resolutions Good?
Why Are New Year’s Resolutions So Hard to Stick To?
How Can I Avoid Injury as a Fitness Beginner?
If you’re getting back into physical activity for the first time in a while, Pelc Graca stresses the importance of taking it slow. “Focus on making gradual progress in all exercises, with an extra emphasis on proper technique,” she says. She also suggests starting with low-impact exercises “like walking, bodyweight strength training, or beginner-friendly yoga,” and then, as you get used to each activity, slowly increase intensity, duration, and frequency.
Pelc Graca also recommends prioritizing warm-ups and cooldowns. “A proper warm-up, including light cardio and dynamic stretching, prepares your muscles and joints for movement, while a cooldown helps with recovery.” She also encourages regular rest days to allow your body to repair itself (and avoid injury). Finally, she says, “Listen to your body. Some discomfort or soreness might be normal when you begin a new exercise program, but sharp pain is a signal to stop.”
What’s the Best Way to Change My Diet?
Tips for Sticking to Your New Year’s Resolution
Fitness tips from Pelc Graca:
- Set specific, realistic goals, then break them into manageable steps. For example: Instead of a general goal to “exercise more,” commit to “walking 30 minutes, three times a week.”
- Track your progress using a journal or app to help you stay motivated and highlight achievements along the way.
- Build consistency through small, sustainable habits, like scheduling workouts at the same time daily, or laying out your gym clothes the night before.
- Focus on activities that you enjoy to help you stay motivated. Whether it’s dancing, hiking, or fitness classes, something you love to do will be easier to stick with.
- Celebrate your successes, no matter how small, and practice self-compassion on challenging days.
- Remember consistency, not perfection, drives long-term results.
- Surround yourself with supportive friends, a coach, or other fitness communities to stay accountable and inspired throughout your journey.
Nutrition tips from Walker:
- Allow room for flexibility and avoid an “all or nothing” mindset.
- Remember that healthy eating is dynamic — it’s about balance and moderation, not perfection.
- Dedicate time to making healthy eating part of your daily routine. Planning, such as meal planning or keeping nutritious snacks on hand, reduces barriers and makes healthy choices easier.
General tip from Kahane: Follow the STEPS template for setting and keeping goals.
- S — Simplify the goal.
- T — Track it.
- E — Evaluate your effort and endurance to reflect on how it gets easier over time.
- P — Pause, praise, progress: Regularly stop and give yourself a little hug for the work that you have put in toward your New Year’s resolution.
- S — Step back in: Decide and commit to the next time you will engage in the process of working toward this goal.
